HUMILITY VS. LOW SELF-ESTEEM
Knowing When and How To Draw The Line
Welcome back, My Family. 🤗🥰
It's so good to be here again.
I'm sincerely sorry for the longgggg break.
I promise not to take this long before reaching out again.
Let's get into what I have for you today.🤗

One of the lessons I learnt from Cell Meeting last semester was the difference between LOW SELF ESTEEM and HUMILITY. In fact, I like the way a member addressed it that day in Cell Meeting.
He described Humility (I rephrase) as a situation when a person has the ability to retaliate when humiliated but chooses not to. He, on the other hand, described Low self-esteem as the inability to stand up for oneself when humiliated.
The truth is that many people do not know when and how to draw the line between humility and low self esteem.
Humility is Christlike and worth emulating, however, KNOW WHEN IT IS NOT HUMILITY.
📍It is not humility when you feel intimidated by the other party involved.
📍It is not humility when you cannot say NO.
📍It is not humility when you're being overused by the other person.
📍It is not humility if you're being extorted.
📍It is not humility when you always feel small, especially among your fellows.
Know when to draw the line!
Learn to set boundaries!
Be confident in your Response!
Appear humble but not feeble!
Jesus, throughout the time of His persecution was humble but not feeble.
He could have called fire on all of them just to show that He was from God but didn't because that was not the goal - the goal was to die for the world. In fact, he begged God on their behalf.
📍Another point you would want to consider is your motive.
For what reason are you allowing yourself to be humiliated?
Is the reason "Christlikely" or otherwise?
You know when it is not humility, hence, fight it!
If you're battling with low self esteem, confessions can go a long way.
📌 You can start from knowing your identity because low self esteem is an Identity crisis. Know who you are in Christ and confess it to yourself.
📌Also, surround yourself with persons who value you regardless of your flaws.
📌Additionally, you would want to work on those flaws, if they are correctable, instead of allowing them shapen your life.
In conclusion, pray, talk to God about it and be intentional with your life.
Reach out to persons, get mentors who you know can help you out, engage in activities that boost your self confidence and see God helping you come out of it.
Gracias 🤗
